fihav 2017Signing of agreements and fruitful exchanges marked the days of this 35th edition of the International Fair of Havana (FIHAV 2017), considered the most important general commercial exchange in Cuba and one of the most representative in Latin America, after five days of exhibitions which concluded in Havana on 3 November at the EXPOCUBA fairgrounds. Some 3,000 exhibitors from more than 60 countries, especially 37 delegations of trading partner States of Cuba and 16 nations with official pavilions (Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, Venezuela, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, China, Russia and Spain) , among the most outstanding) met in this edition that was once again consolidated as the ideal space for the strengthening and promotion of commercial relations granted by foreign businessmen to the development of business in the Greater Antilles.

The Second Foreign Investment Forum and the signing of an outstanding number of agreements between Cuban companies and those of Russia, the Czech Republic, the United States and other countries stood out on this occasion. The statement was confirmed by Rodrigo Malmierca, Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, who evaluated the new opportunities for commercial exchange that were generated during the fair as positive and very profitable. One more year and under the protection of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba, BRASCUBA, Cigarrillos S.A. was present at FIHAV to establish business contacts at a national and international level, in view of the great business and investment opportunities that arise in the different markets of the region and the world.

Its objectives on this occasion were aimed at: consolidating the image of the institution as a leader of the Cuban business community in this event; to announce the launch of the new Hollywood Fresh with Capsule, the first mentholated cigarette with a capsule produced in Cuba; and promote the other products of the portfolio. Dissimilar were the activities developed in this direction. Special mention deserves the design of the stand of our company, which was supported by a whole system of communication supports linked to the Hollywood Fresh Campaign with Capsule and communication actions addressed to the national press for the presentation of this brand. It would be enough to mention the half page that the weekly newspaper Opciones dedicated to us, as part of the media coverage.

Our stand was visited by important Cuban and foreign personalities. Rodrigo Malmierca, minister of the MINCEX; Gustavo Rodríguez Rollero and Julio Andrés García Pérez, Minister and Deputy Minister of Agriculture respectively; the president of Tabacuba, Justo Fuentes Díaz, as well as ambassadors and first secretaries of the Embassy of Santa Lucia and other countries of the Caribbean region in Cuba. As usual, we attended to export clients, representatives of political and governmental institutions, potential suppliers interested in establishing links with our company and conducted a participation contest with the collaboration of DESOFT, through the application EnTuMó, consistent in questions about the new Hollywood Fresh product with Capsule.

This communication campaign was presented to the members of the jury and the organizing committee of the National Office of Industrial Design (ONDI) and the Cuban Association of Social Communicators (ACCS). It is important to note that at the awards gala, Cuba won 24 awards, including medals and mentions, with various high quality products and design. BRASCUBA, thanks to the work and effort of all those who in one way or another participated as an excellent team, won three awards: Grand Prize for Integral Communication, Audiovisual Media Advertising Prize and Prize for Communication Media for the Campaign Hollywood Fresh with Capsule.
